The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to unveil its election manifesto by February 6,while Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will do the same tomorrow.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to unveil its 13th national election manifesto by February 6, with the document built around the party's long-promoted 31-point reform agenda aimed at political, economic, and institutional transformation of the country.
Senior BNP leaders and persons involved in the manifesto said it would reflect the party's vision for restoring democratic governance, rebuilding state institutions, and addressing pressing economic challenges, while placing strong emphasis on accountability, rule of law, and citizens' rights.
"The manifesto will be revealed on February 5 or 6. The final announcement will be made on Tuesday after a meeting headed by party Chairman Tarique Rahman," said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan also confirmed the decision would be made in no time.
The manifesto is coming at a time when political parties are intensifying preparations amid renewed public debate over governance reforms and the future political roadmap of Bangladesh.
BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed told The Financial Express the 31-point agenda - first formally presented as a charter for change during the anti-fascism movement - would serve as the core framework of the manifesto. The party believes the agenda resonates with public aspirations that emerged during years of political repression, economic stress, and institutional decay.
Salahuddin said the manifesto would outline proposals to ensure free and fair elections, re-establish an independent and effective Election Commission, and guarantee judicial independence through structural reforms.
Agriculture and food would be prioritised to ensure food security, while health allocation would be raised, he said.
Education and research would also be prioritised to ensure sustainable economic growth for employment generation, he added.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is set to announce its election manifesto tomorrow with a bunch of pledges, focusing on moving forward the economy, ensuring public safety, eliminating corruption, creating employment, and establishing social justice.
"We are likely to announce our election manifesto on February 4, 2026," the party's election management committee member Oli Ullah Noman told The Financial Express on Monday.
He said the manifesto would provide a detailed future roadmap for the economy, agriculture, education, health, and other sectors.
If voted to power, Jamaat would build a just, equitable, and prosperous Bangladesh, he said. The manifesto will outline the party's policies and governance agenda for the 13th parliamentary election slated for February 12.
The party believes in Bangladesh's capacity to thrive, considering the strength of the people, the commitment of the Bangladeshi diaspora, the leadership of women, the energy of the youth, and the support of friends across the world. The manifesto will strengthen democratic institutions, as well as ensure accountability and stability.
It will focus on creating employment for young graduates, providing interest-free loans to farmers, establishing dedicated hospitals in all districts, and containing inflation.
