BNP plans nonstop movement from May 9

Opposition BNP plans to launch non-stop movement from May 9 demanding immediate resignation of the government and holding midterm election, reports UNB. This was stated by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir while addressing a rally at Muktangon in the city Tuesday afternoon. "On May 9 movement will begin in presence of lakhs of people demanding resignation of the government and midterm election. The movement will continue-we will not return home until the government comes to its knees," Fakhrul said. The rally was a part of the countrywide demonstration organized by BNP. Fakhrul said countywide demonstration will be held on May 5 protesting share market scam and demanding trial of those who plundered thousands of crores of taka of small investors. In the capital, the demonstration will be held at Muktangon. Alamgir said BNP will not accept any controversial person as Chief Adviser for which the present chief justice has been promoted by superseding two senior judges. He was critical of the government move to introduce electronic voting system in a bid to rig election in digital process. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Shamsuzzman Dudu, Amanullah Aman, M Elias Ali, Abdus Salam, Nazimuddin Alam, Abul Khayer Bhuiyan, Shirin Sultana and Amirul Islam Alim also spoke at rally.
