DSE turnover exceeds Tk 12b mark

Daily trade turnover on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) crossed Tk 12 billion mark on Monday, after nearly three months, as buoyant investors put fresh funds on stocks anticipating positive momentum ahead. Turnover stood at Tk 12.08 billion on the country's premier bourse, up by 24 per cent over previous day's tally of Tk 9.72 billion. Page 9

Russia defending ‘Motherland’: Putin

President Vladimir Putin on Monday insisted Russia was defending the "Motherland" by its war in Ukraine, as Moscow staged a show of force at a military parade marking the 1945 victory over Nazi Germany. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky sought, however, to undercut his Russian rival's display of might, saying Kyiv would not allow Moscow to appropriate the Soviet Union's triumph in World War II. 26 firms win award

Some 26 companies have won the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2020 for their contribution in the national economy by establishing industrial units and thus creating jobs. The Ministry of Industries has selected the enterprises under five categories - large, medium, small, micro and state-owned. In this regard, the ministry issued a gazette on Sunday with names of the winners. Page 21
