Stocks finish green amid cautious trading

Stocks managed to close marginally up for a second straight session on Thursday as the bargain hunters showed their buying appetite for selective issues ahead of corporate declarations by June-closing firms. The market opened on a positive note but erased all the gains after the first half of the trading session as shaky investors rushed to lock in profit from quick-gaining stocks. Oil price rises towards $90

Oil prices firmed on Thursday, erasing earlier losses, on indications that OPEC+ might cut output, though a stronger dollar and weak economic outlook kept a lid on gains. Brent crude futures rose 52 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $89.84 a barrel and US crude futures rose by 52 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $82.67. Page 19
