Pharma sector drives DSEX up
Dhaka bourse closed the Tuesday's session higher, both in broad index and turnover, with major sectors witnessing mixed performance. On the day, some major sectors such as banking, engineering, general insurance and telecommunications declined marginally but pharmaceuticals & chemicals played a market-supportive role, helping the benchmark equity index close in the green. ‘Tariff removal to raise BD-Turkiye trade’
Removal of tariff barriers in Turkish market for Bangladeshi businesses can significantly help grow bilateral trade between the two countries, said Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) President Rizwan Rahman. In a recent meeting with Turkish Minister for Trade Dr Mehmet Mus at his ministry in Ankara, Rizwan Rahman said the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Turkiye is around US$ 900 million which can be increased to over $2.0 billion through trade diversification. Siddons wary ahead of T20 World Cup
Jamie Siddons, the Bangladesh batting coach, feels that if they can challenge Pakistan and New Zealand in the upcoming T20 tri-series then they will consider themselves to be ready for the T20 World Cup.
