BSEC okays Tk 1.0b Mutual Fund

The securities regulator has approved the prospectus of a new closed-end mutual fund named --- 'ICB AMCL CMSF Golden Jubilee Mutual Fund' worth Tk 1.0 billion. The approval came on Tuesday at a meeting held at the office of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) presided over by its Chairman Prof. Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam. Page 9

Tigers quickest to taste 100th defeat Test

Bangladesh scripted an unwanted record after conceding a 10-wicket defeat to West Indies in the second Test, which not only gave them a bitter taste of whitewash but also completed their 100th defeat in this format. The government has released a sum of Tk 21 billion for the payment of cash incentives to local exporters on their export earnings, officials said. 50 migrants found dead in Texas truck

At least 50 people have been found dead in an abandoned truck on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas. A fire official said 16 people, including four children, had also been taken to hospital. The survivors were "hot to the touch" and suffering from heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Page 17
