Budget responsive to evolving pvt sector needs

Hailing the proposed national budget for FY27, President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Amirul Haque has said the overall direction of the budget has been positive and responsive to the evolving needs of the private sector.
In a statement to The Financial Express on Friday, he said the budget had been a well-rounded and forward-looking initiative as it placed strong emphasis on macroeconomic stability, investment expansion, production growth, employment generation, and inclusive development in an integrated manner.
The introduction of the unified digital platform BanglaBiz, an initiative taken by the government to improve the ease of doing business, was highly appreciated, he said.
"I believe this initiative will help reduce procedural complexities, improve transparency, and make business operations more efficient," said Haque.
He also lauded the move to expand industrial infrastructure like new export processing zones (EPZs) and economic zones (EZs).
"These initiatives will help promote balanced regional development and create significant employment opportunities," the CCCI president said.
The proposed duty-free import facilities for export-oriented industries would further support the diversification of the export basket and enhance global market competitiveness, he noted.
According to him, the Tk 600 billion stimulus package is a timely and critical intervention to support private sector credit flow.
He also welcomed the strong focus on employment generation and skills development through initiatives like employment exchanges, SICIP training programmes, and improved worker welfare measures.
The business leader also appreciated the increased allocation for education and the long-term vision to strengthen human capital through vocational training, digital learning, and stronger industry-academia linkages.
