Businessman gunned down at Bhashantek in city

Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a businessman at Bhashantek in the city Friday noon.
The incident took place hours after gunmen shot a student dead in Mirpur Thursday night.
An officer of Kafrul police station told the FE that five miscreants went to Liton furniture at Baganbari in Bhashantek area at about 1p.m. and opened fire there, leaving owner of the shop Olliullah seriously injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The police suspected that the assailants might have killed Olliullah over extortion.
The police are investigating the incident, he added.
There has been an increase in the incidents of crime including murder and snatching in the city.
