CA leaves for China today

Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed leaves for Beijing today (Sunday) midnight on a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao for updating the bilateral relations, reports UNB.
It is expected that the Chief Adviser's trip would further bolster the strong and cordial friendship between Bangladesh and China, and boost trade and investment between the two countries as well.
During the visit, the head of the caretaker government would have official talks with Chinese Prime Minister Jiabao at the Great Hall of the People on Tuesday. Agreements are expected to be signed capping the official talks.
Dr Fakhruddin is scheduled to call on President of China Hu Jintao at the Great Hall of the People Tuesday.
The CA will also have a tête-à-tête with Vice-President Xi Jinping at the State Guesthouse. He will also attend the closing ceremony of Paralympics Beijing 2008 at the Bird's Nest Wednesday.
CA's wife, Neena Ahmed, is accompanying him on the China tour. The other members of his entourage include Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Foreign Secretary M Touhid Hossain, Secretary of the CA's Office Kazi M Aminul Islam and CA's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim.
He is scheduled to return home late Thursday night (Sept 19).
