Cabinet body on Rooppur NPP renamed

The first meeting of the Cabinet Committee on the proposed Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) was held Wednesday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. The meeting decided to rename the committee as National Committee on the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project. A presentation was made before the meeting on the NPP. Finance Minister A M A Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Planning Minister A K Khandakar, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, advisers H T Imam and Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, and state minister Yeafesh Osman, among others, attended the meeting. -UNB / BSS
