Chinese co to set up industry in KEPZ

A Chinese company will set up a casting manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ). The company, M/s Bangladesh Vilia Casting Pvt Ltd, will invest US$ 4.16 million (41.6 lakh) and produce casting, which includes lampost, grill, steel ball, road block and other items. It will also create an employment opportunity for 210 Bangladeshi and 10 foreign nationals. An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the M/s Bangladesh Vilia Casting Pvt Ltd at the BEPZA Complex in the city Thursday. —UNB
