Miscreants shot dead a local leader of Shechchhashebak League, a front organisation of ruling Awami League (AL), at Gandaria in the city Saturday. The police said that the victim, identified as Din Islam Dila alias Delwar Islam Dilu (40), was the general secretary of Dhaka City Corporation Ward-82 Shechchhashebak League. Gandaria police in charge Faruk Ahmed said that Dila was shot down when he was riding a motorcycle on KB Road. Critically injured Dilu was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead. — bdnews24.com
