The government has a plan to constitute a separate commission like the Public Service Commission for ensuring standard, transparency and accountability in appointing teachers as part of the National Education Policy 2010, reports UNB.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated this in Parliament on Wednesday while responding to a starred question.
Hasina said that on October 26 she formed a seven-member committee where the concerned director of her office (PMO) will be the convenor of the committee to prepare the documents for constituting the separate commission for teachers.
The committee will finish their works quickly and after completing other procedures there will be a separate commission as soon as possible, she said.
Earlier, on August 31, the Prime Minister during her visit to the Education Ministry had directed the concerned officials to enact a law for constituting a separate Commission for removing shortage of teachers aiming to bring dynamism and development of the education sector.
