JESSORE, Dec 15 (UNB): BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia Monday alleged that conspiracy still continued to foil the parliamentary elections and cautioned that a dangerous situation would be created if voting did not take place on December 29.
"Still there is uncertainty about the elections as conspiracy is on. Plot is being cooked up seeing the mass tide in favour of BNP and its alliance," she told a big election rally on the local Town Hall ground for six candidates of BNP and its alliance.
Khaleda said election must be held on December 29 and urged the Election Commission (EC) to remain neutral to ensure free and fair election.
She alleged that the Commission had kept in place an administration in favour of a political party.
"Sitting in the drawing rooms they are deeply engaged in conspiracy and you must be careful about that," said Khaleda, now on a three-day election trail in south-western districts.
Criticising the foreign visits by the Chief Adviser and his advisers, the former Prime Minister said the present caretaker government made more foreign trips in the last two years than her foreign tours in five years. She said they (caretaker government) must give account of their foreign trips.
Khaleda was also critical of the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) alleging that corrupt people were sitting in a big place like ACC. She also alleged that politicians and businessmen were arrested in the name of corruption, ruining the country's economy.
