The Covid-19 test positivity rate increased to 10.87 per cent in Bangladesh on Monday, crossing 10-per cent mark after more than four months, with the health authorities reporting 873 new virus cases on the day.
The daily caseloads were reported at 596 in the country on Sunday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Previously, the DGHS reported Covid-19 test positivity rate at 10.24 per cent on February 17 last.
On the other hand, a single death was reported from the coronavirus during the last 24 hours until 8:0 am on Monday, after counting zero fatality for the last several days.
With Monday's counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,132 in the country since March 2020.
A total of 8,028 samples were tested while 8,046 samples were collected across the country during the past 24 hours.
On the other hand, 92 more people recovered from the coronavirus disease during the last 24-hour reporting time across the country, the DGDH data revealed.
The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.38 per cent on the day.
However, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent in Bangladesh.
The aggregate Covid-19 caseloads stood at 1.957 million in Bangladesh and over 1.90 million of them had recovered, the DGHS data revealed.
