Two forest officials of Chittagong division, allegedly on the run, have been suspended Thursday. Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Mokhlesur Rahman said, conservator of forests Atiqul Azam and his deputy Tapan Kumar Dey were put under suspension, as they faced corruption charges, and also because they were absconding. Earlier on June 24, the joint-forces searched the foresters' offices and homes, and found both of them absent. On June 25, the joint-forces also raided Tapan Kumar Dey's office at Sholoshahar, and seized Tk 1.8 million (18 lakh) in cash and some documents.
