The Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with Export Promotion Bureau (EBB) is all set to organise the 15th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2010, scheduled to begin from January 1 through January 31, 2010.
According to DITF-2010 Secretariat office, a total of 303 stalls have been allocated to local and foreign participants in eight different categories.
"All preparations are complete," a Secretariat source told the FE adding that Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the country's largest trade show on January 1.
Explaining in detail, EPB spokesmen said a total of 60 pavilions have been allocated among local and foreign participants along with 40 mini-pavilions.
Five premier pavilions of 50'x50' and four premier mini-pavilions with 25'x25' area have been allocated to major participants at prime locations. Special pavilions having 60'x60' space have also been allocated to six foreign participants as well, the fair organisers added.
Besides, there would be 12 restaurants at different points on the fair ground. A total of 35 premier stalls were also allocated to foreign and local companies, sources added.
The fair organising committee has kept a separate Foreign Zone reserved for foreign participants only. There will be 20 pre-fabricated booths each measuring 10'x10' built by the fair authorities in the Foreign Zone. The foreign participants are eligible to get allocation in the Foreign Zone on payment of proportionate rent for a period as desired by them, an official added.
Unlike the previous year, the ministry of commerce is organising the 2010 fair without any foreign partner-country. In 2009, Sri Lanka was chosen as a partner-country for the trade fair.
Private television channel ATN Bangla is media partner of the fair this year, the EPB official added.
