Dhaka stocks end mixed

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started with a flat mood from the very outset of the trade and finished with the same as the main index curve remained almost parallel compared to the previous day's curve.
The market barometers - the benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) and All Shares Price Index (DSI) -- gained slightly 1.50 points and 0.40 points to end at 2849.67 and 2406.25 respectively.
However, the DSE-20 blue chips fell 13.96 points to finish at 2412.13 on price correction.
Stock prices of most companies declined on the day. Out of total 224 issues traded on the day, 80 gained, 129 declined and 15 remained unchanged.
The market remained flat on the day, indicating that the investors were looking for direction, said an analyst.
The day's total turnover increased to Tk 3.14 billion against the previous day's Tk 2.72 billion. The total market capitalisation also rose to Tk 994.07 billion from Tk 993.94 billion of the previous day.
Stock prices of Titas Gas posted a rise of 3.99 per cent to close at Tk 514.50 per share. It became the top turnover leader with shares worth Tk 424.29 million changing hands.
Beximco Limited was the second turnover leader with shares worth Tk 256.76 million traded. Share prices of the company, the top gainer, rose 2.46 per cent to end at Tk 153.60 per share.
ICB 2nd NRB, GrameenS2 Mutual Fund, ACI Limited, Lankabangla Finance , AIMS 1st Mutual Fund, Beximco Pharma , Square Textile and Uttara Bank were the day's other turnover leaders.
Share prices of Rahim Textile had the biggest gain of 14.05 per cent, followed by Usmania Glass with 9.94 per cent, Modern Industries 9.63 per cent, GrameenS2 Mutual Fund 8.59 per cent, Dandy Dyeing 7.93 per cent and ICB 2nd NRB 7.21 per cent.
Monospool, Wonder Toys, Anwar Galvanising, Aziz Pipes, Maq Paper, BD Com and Federal Insurance were the other turnover leaders on the day.
