Donations to Army Relief Fund made tax-free

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Monday said voluntary donations on Army Relief Fund will be considered as income tax free up to December 31 next to attract more fund for Sidr survivors.
The government will issue an order within a short time in this connection, the NBR chief said while addressing at a press conference on income tax collection from individual returns.
Earlier, donation on Chief Adviser's Relief Fund was income tax free only and for the time being army relief fund will get the same opportunity.
The government has also increased the tax exemption ceiling up to Tk 500,000 from Tk 250,000 for any kind of voluntary donation, NBR chairman said.
