The government has cancelled the permit of Deshbandhu Sugar Mills Ltd (DSML) to export 5,155 tonnes of unsold sugar, which will now be supplied to the local markets to bring down its price to a tolerable level. The DSML got a permit during the immediate past caretaker government to export a total of 6,005 tonnes of sugar to the European Countries under an 'Everything But Arms' (EBA) quota. — BSS
