Expatriates set to become voters

The bill on allowing Bangladeshi expatriates to vote in elections has been passed in parliament. The assembly on Wednesday passed the "Voters Roll (Amendment) Bill-2010" on a proposal by law minister Shafique Ahmed. If the law takes effect through publication of gazette, expatriate Bangladeshis will be registered as voters in areas where they last lived or their parents lived. — bdnews24.com
