Five advisers of the caretaker government were in a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her cantonment home, an official at Khaleda's residence said Wednesday evening, report UNB and bdnews24.com.
The official said the five advisers - Ghulam Quader, AF Hassan Ariff, Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Anwarul Iqbal and Hossain Zillur Rahman - arrived there at around 7:25pm. BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain and joint secretary general Nazrul Islam Khan were also present at the meeting.
Earlier, four advisers had met Khaleda Zia at her home, a day after her release from the special jail on Sept 11. On Oct 10, Commerce Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman also held a meeting with Khaleda at her cantonment home.
Meanwhile, Awami League (AL) sits with the caretaker government today (Thursday) to settle some crucial issues including release of the party chief Sheikh Hasina.
The AL delegation led by its acting president Zillur Rahman will attend the political dialogue, second in four months, with Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakruddin Ahmed and other advisers at the CA's office.
Awami League officials said the party would raise certain demands including release of Hasina and lifting the state of emergency in full during the dialogue. Hasina is now on parole for treatment in USA.
AL will also ask for resolving the issue of delimitation of the parliamentary constituencies by the next seven days, deferring the dates of upazila elections, and neutral role of electronic media during the polls.
