The country’s foreign-currency reserves crossed $30-billion mark on Wednesday, according to the central bank data.
The forex reserves stood at $30.016 billion as on June 21, which was $29.958 billion a day ago, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) statistics showed.
Seeking anonymity, a BB official said the rise in the reverses is giving some breathing space to economy from current stresses in different macroeconomic areas.
He said the volume could go up to $31 billion within days as budgetary support amounting to some $1.0 billion is expected to come from multilateral agencies like AIIB, ADB, WB and JAICA.
