PATUAKHALI, Aug 16 (bdnews24.com): A Patuakhali court Thursday sentenced former lawmaker and Patuakhali BNP Vice-president Shahidul Alam to 10 years in prison in an arms case.
Judge ABM Sajedur Rahman of Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court, Patuakhali handed down the verdict.
The case details said joint forces raided the house of the former Member of Parliament (MP) from Patuakhali-2 (Baufal) constituency on February 16 and recovered huge quantities of relief materials and two pistol magazines from there.
Baufal police filed a case on February 17 under the Arms Act.
After examining the records and witnesses, the judge handed down the verdict in the crowded courtroom.
