Former CEC MA Syed passes away

Former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) MA Syed died of old age complications at his Gulshan residence in the city Saturday morning. He was 76. MA Syed is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death, said an Election Commission (EC) press release. He was the CEC from May 23, 2000 until May 22, 2005. — UNB
