BNP has formed four committees with professionals to investigate the incidents of repression on minorities, violence, human rights violation and killing and extrajudicial killings that occurred before, during and after the 10th parliamentary polls, reports UNB.
BNP assistant office secretary Shamimur Rahman Shamim told the news agency on Thursday that party chairperson Khaleda Zia constituted the probe committees after a meeting with pro-BNP professionals on Wednesday.
He said the committee members will visit the affected areas and spots and talk to the local people. "They'll also dig out how and when the incidents took place in the respective districts and who were responsible for those. After the extensive probes, they'll submit separate reports with recommendations."
Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved the committees following the direction of the BNP chairperson, Shamim said.
A committee was formed with party standing committee member Jamiruddin Sircar as its convener and advocate Sanaullah Miah as its member secretary to carry out investigations in Sirajganj, Bogra and Gaibandha districts.
