Gazipur city polls on June 26

The Election Commission (EC) fixed on Sunday June 26 as the new date for holding the Gazipur City Corporation election. EC acting secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said the election would be held on June 26 while the official election campaign would start on June 18. The decision was taken at a meeting of the EC chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda in the afternoon, he said. On Thursday, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court asked the EC to hold the GCC election by June 28. — UNB
