Gazipur transport workers' strike withdrawn

November 05, 2010 00:00:00

Transport workers in Gazipur Thursday withdrew their possible strike a day after they called it following a meeting between Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain and transport leaders at the secretariat in the city. The Dhaka division unit of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation (BRTWF) called the two-day-long strike, which was set to begin on November 8, to press home their seven-point demands, including implementation of the government decision to ensure transport workers' security, hike in their wages and other benefits. — FE Report
