The government on Thursday formed new commissions on media, labour rights, health and women affairs.
Senior journalist Kamal Ahmed will head the reform commission on media. Dr AK Azad will head the commission on health, Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed will head the commission on labour rights and Shirin Pravin Huq will head the commission on women, said adviser Syed Rizwana Huq while briefing the journalists on the decisions of the council of advisers' meeting held on Thursday.
Responding to a question about the areas where the media commission will propose reform, she said that these term of reference of the commissions will be determined by the full body of the commissions.
The adviser also said that the council also decided to involve the students in traffic management after providing them proper training.
Replying to a question she said that the formation of the decision whether the government will form the supreme judicial council will be determined after the disposal of the review petition on the verdict of the 16th amendment.
She also urged the people to be cautious about social media propaganda as many rumours are being spread through it.
"We are requesting all to refrain from spreading rumours in the social media" she said adding that the government is totally committed to ensure freedom of expression.
She said that the cabinet scrutinised the recommendations of the committee, formed to determine the age limit for government services.
The interim government is also committed to ensure the rights of the minorities and this was discussed on details in the meeting, she added.
Mahfuj Alam, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser told the briefing that the government is in touch with the Palli Biddut Samity to address their problems.
The members of the are now observing complete shutdown which hampers power supply in several areas of the country.
