Govt to compensate Sirajganj train victims

The government has decided to compensate the victims of the Sirajganj train accident that claimed five lives. Director General of Bangladesh Railway T A Chowdhury confirmed the news to the news agency Thursday. Earlier on Oct 11, at least five people were run over and killed by an intercity train, when it ploughed through an opposition rally spilling onto the tracks at Sayedabad near Bangabandhu Mulitpurpose Bridge in Sirajganj. Soon after the accident, the main opposition BNP had been demanding compensation be provided to the victims.
