Govt to distribute 5m energy-saving bulbs tomorrow

The government will distribute 5.0 million energy saving bulbs Saturday free of cost in 39 districts across the country including Dhaka. Most of the power distribution companies including PDB, REB, DPDC and WZPDCO will distribute the bulbs known as compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) among the power consumers in their respective areas under a project titled: Efficient Lighting Initiative. Earlier, on June 19 this year, some 5.5 million energy saving bulbs were distributed in 27 districts under the same project. Another 7.5 million CFL bulbs will be distributed free of cost among the electricity consumers under the same project. — UNB
