Govt to welcome any legal move against war criminals, says CA

Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhrudin Ahmed Wednesday said, the Caretaker Government would welcome if any aggrieved person moves legally for the trial of the war criminals, reports UNB.
He made the remark as the question came up during a views exchanging meeting with the editors of the country's national dailies and news agencies as well as the television and radio channels at his office.
About lifting ban on indoor politics, Fakhruddin said, the government would withdraw the prohibition outside Dhaka in phases before the election of the local bodies, and the emergency would be lifted gradually ahead of the general election.
The CA once again categorically said, the stalled general election would be held by December 2008 as per the roadmap of the Election Commission.
About the arrested teachers and students of Dhaka University, he said, the government is "respectful to the teachers and students."
