Hasina submits Tk 35m wealth statement

After so many incidents including legal wrangling, detained former Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina Monday submitted her wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) disclosing that she has assets worth about Tk 35 million, reports UNB.
The statement, submitted through prison authorities, showed Hasina has approximately 8.07 acres of land in her home district of Gopalganj while 0.78 acre in Khulna. She has also some land in Rangpur, but the amount was not mentioned in the statement.
The AL chief has eight accounts in different banks. Besides, she has a fixed deposit of over Tk 21.8 million in Sonali Bank's Jatiya Sangsad branch, a fixed deposit of Tk about 0.344 million in Pubali Bank's Motijheel branch and a fixed deposit of Tk about 0.8 million in Agrani Bank's main branch.
She has two lockers in Agrani Bank and one in Pubali Bank.
The former Prime Minister has two jeeps, two rifles and one pistol, according to the statement.
Another report adds: Detained AL general secretary Abdul
Jalil, former FBCCI president Abdul Awal Mintoo, newly appointed BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain's son Khandaker Akhter Hamid Paban and former R&H chief engineer Faizur Rahman have submitted their wealth statements to the ACC.
Jalil and Mintoo submitted their wealth statements on Sunday through jail authorities while the two others Monday through their representatives.
Among the immovable property, Jalil, also a former minister, has 1,031 decimal of land in Naogaon, a 3,900 square-foot of flat in Gulshan, a cold storage worth Tk 61.2 million and a supermarket valued at Tk 1.0 million in Nagaon.
