The former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her desire to pay tax worth Tk 0.7 million (7.0 lakh) for the current fiscal.
The date of filing individuals tax return will expire on October 31.
Lawyer of Sheikh Hasina Tuesday met the National Board of Revenue (NBR) authorities to relax one of her frozen bank account for tax return, as she is a regular taxpayer.
Tax lawyer Khandaker Moniruzzaman, on behalf of her, sought relaxation of an account on Sonali bank of Sangsad Bhaban Branch to withdraw cash from the account for payment of tax.
Sources said the board is likely to relax the particular frozen accounts for a certain period in line with the request of the former prime minister.
The NBR, in august, frozen all the bank accounts and seized saving certificates of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family member to find mismatch between their wealth and tax return.
