Hijacked palm oil truck recovered in city

New Market police recovered 46 out of 60 drums of palm oil that was hijacked from Dhanmondi early Friday. Sub-Inspector of New Market police station Sajjad told the FE that they are yet to seize the hijacked truck carrying palm oil. Earlier, muggers drove away with the truck fully loaded with palm oil worth Tk 1.30 million (13 lakh) from Sobhanbagh in the city's Dhanmondi area early Friday. A gang of seven forcibly got into the truck at gunpoint on the Mirpur Road adjacent to Rapa Plaza soon after stopping it at about 6:00am. Shortly after getting in, the thugs drove away with the truck after dropping its driver and helper.
