The government extended the ongoing general holiday across the country for one more day, Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain told UNB.
"Considering the ongoing situation, the ongoing general holiday has been extended by an executive order till July 23 (Tuesday)," he said.
"As a nationwide curfew is ongoing and considering the safety of the citizens, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved general holiday for one more day," added the minister.
A notification in this regard would be issued from the ministry, he further stated.
However, emergency services including hospitals, electricity, gas, water would be out of the purview of the holiday.
