The manager of a residential hotel was stabbed to death, and two others were injured in a fierce attack by their one ex-colleague, following past enmity on Wednesday morning, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Sohrab (32), manager of Al-Shyama Residential Hotel at 187 Nawabpur Road in Kotwali area.
Police said former employee of the hotel Shiblu, along with his three associates, stormed into the hotel at about 6am, and started stabbing Sohrab and two other staffers - Alam and Shamim.
"Sohrab was left dead on the spot in the indiscriminate stabbing," police said, quoting witnesses.
Critically injured, Alam was admitted to the Chest Diseases Hospital, while Shamim to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). The manager's body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Hotel sources said, the authorities sacked Shiblu, who used to take drug regularly, on charge of stealing money a week before. "To take revenge, Shiblu stabbed them," a police official of Kotwali station said.
Later, police arrested Shiblu from the city's Kodamtoli area. "He confessed to his involvement in stabbing them during interrogation," the police official said.
A case was filed with the police station.
