Detained ex-premier and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina Monday said she is not scared of 'death' after surviving the August 15, 1975 carnage and the August 21, 2004 grisly grenade attack on her, reports UNB.
"By the grace of Almighty Allah, I survived the August 21 grenade attacks and the August 15 massacre… I have surrendered my life to the Almighty…I'm not afraid of my death," Hasina was quoted by her tax-lawyer Moniruzzaman as saying during counselling.
Advocate Moniruzzaman met Hasina at the special jail in the Sangsad Bhaban complex and discussed with her the notice served by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for submitting her wealth account.
Moniruzzaman said Sheikh Hasina would seek extension of the deadline to submit her wealth statement to the anti-graft watchdog. "I had prepared the application in this regard. She will sign and send it to the ACC through DIG (Prisons)," he said.
About the police charge-sheet submitted Tuesday against Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, Hasina said, "Police submitted the charge sheet against Rehana in the extortion case although she was not present in Bangladesh.
"Why police submitted the charge-sheet against Rehana?" she posed a question.
