Import of cotton from India starts

JESSORE, June 8: Import of cotton from India started Monday, as the country withdrew ban on export of cotton. A total of 3,349 bales of cotton were imported from India on the day. Petrapole customs authority in West Bengal had stopped export of cotton from April 21. Permission to export cotton was given subject to realising Rs 2,500 as customs duty on per tonne.
