Intra-party clash leaves BCL activist dead at CU

CHITTAGONG, Dec 14 (Agencies): A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) factional clash at Chittagong University (CU) on the Martyred Intellectuals Day has left one dead.
The deceased was identified as Taposh Roy, a second year student of  the Sanskrit Department of the university.
Police said two groups of the university unit BCL locked into a clash at about 11:30 am over establishing supremacy on the campus.
Both the groups traded gunshots leaving six activists of the ruling Awami League's student wing injured.
All the injured were whisked off to Chittagong Medical College  Hospital where Taposh succumbed to his wounds later.
Sunday's clash took place within a month of the BCL factions saying they will peacefully co-exist.
