IOJ calls countrywide hartal on April 4

Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ) has called for countrywide dawn to dusk hartal on April 4 to protest the government decision of awarding equal right of women to paternal property in the National Women's Policy. IOJ chairman Fazlul Huq Aminee announced the hartal from a rally at Muktangon Tuesday afternoon that was organised to protest the government decision. He termed the government decision 'anti-Islamic'. The National Women's Policy approved at the cabinet meeting on Monday provides for equal right of women on paternal property to ensure equal rights for them. Aminee said the provision is against the Quran and Sunnah. - UNB
