IT declared priority sector: Faruk

Commerce Minister Faruk Khan has said the government has declared the IT sector as a priority one keeping in view the dream of making 'Digital Bangladesh.' "The country has now 25,000 skilled IT engineers while around 6,000 software engineers are now graduating every year from 90 universities and 700 colleges," he said while addressing the inaugural session of a two-day Chief Information Officers' (CIO) summit of the world's renowned IT executives at Arizona recently. -- BSS
