The Anti-Corruption Commission Wednesday began serving notices to 20 corruption suspects including detained Awami League general secretary Abdul Jalil, directing them to submit their wealth statements within seven working days, reports UNB.
"We've begun sending notices to the 20 individuals," ACC secretary Mokhles ur Rahman told reporters in the afternoon.
Sources said the Commission Tuesday decided to issue notices to these individuals, mostly in jail, to come up with the accounts of their wealth within seven working days.
Those in jail would be issued notices through prison authorities while the others would receive their notices at their home addresses.
The corruption suspects are going to be summoned under Section 26(1) of the ACC Act, 2004 and Section 17 of the ACC Rules, 27.
