Joint forces release Proshika chief, son

Joint forces detained and then released Proshika chief Kazi Faruque Ahmed and his son early Thursday morning after raiding his home, reports bdnews24.com.
They also raided the homes of former state minister Jahanara Begum and former Awami League lawmaker Rahmatullah Wednesday night.
The forces released Kazi Faruque and son Kazi Rubayet Ahmed, who heads the NGO's IT wing, at around 2:50am after taking them to Proshika office at around 2:00am.
They searched the office of the NGO at Mirpur-2 for about half an hour.
The forces first swooped on the home of Jahanara, also former prime minister Khaleda Zia's adviser and now LDP secretary general.
The forces also launched a raid on the AL leader Rahmatullah's house on Road No 11/A at Gulshan 2. He was not at home at the time.
The law-enforcers left after questioning Rahmatullah's daughter Ani and her husband Hayat, security guard of the house Jalaluddin said.
He also said 10-12 were army men and two plainclothes men. The one hour raid started at 10:45pm, Jalaluddin added.
