JSC, JDC exams begin

At least 15 examinees have been expelled during the first day of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations across the country.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Fahima Khatun informed the FE that of the expelled examines--12 students appeared under Madrasah Education Board, two students under Dhaka Education Board and another one under Dinajpur Education Board.
However, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid expressed satisfaction over the first day of examination. The minister expressed his pleasure while he was visiting an examination centre in the capital.
During the visit, Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Fahima Khatun and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
This year, around 1.91 million students under eight general education boards and the madrasah education board have been participating in the eighth grade examinations.
The nine-day junior grade examinations will end on November 15 that will be held under uniform question papers.
Statistics, released by the education ministry, shows that around 1.56 million students under eight general education boards and 0.36 million students under the madrasah education board will sit the examinations.
The data also indicated that the number of examinees is also higher by 47 thousand than that of the last year.
According to the statistics some 0.149 million students are going to take the examinations for the second time as they could not pass in the last year's examinations.
