Jute trader shot dead in city

A group of assailants shot a jute trader dead in the city's Kafrul area Friday noon. The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan Dewan (45), a member of Eleven Cloth Club in Mirpur-13, an association of local traders. Police said two to three armed assailants entered the clubhouse at about 1:15pm and sprayed bullets on Mannan while he was enjoying a chess match in the club. Mannan was hit by bullets in the head, chest and abdomen. — UNB
