BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has termed newspaper reports based on joint interrogation cell's (JIC) interrogation about her family members' links in bribery and extortion 'false and baseless', reports UNB.
"These are being publicised with certain motives," she told reporters at the Holy Family Hospital Thursday afternoon.
The reports came out during the interrogation about former state minister for Home Affairs Luthfozzaman Babar at the JIC.
Khaleda went to the Holy Family Hospital to see ailing BNP standing committee member and ex-MP Advocate Khondokar Mahbubuuddin Ahmed. Ahmed had undergone prostate gland operation on May 29. She stayed sometime beside the ailing BNP leader and inquired about his health condition from physicians.
Later, Begum Zia went to see former BNP MP Mosaddeque Ali Falu's ailing mother Romon Bibi (77) at BIRDEM Hospital. She is suffering from old age complications. Khaleda inquired about her treatment.
