BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, her late youngest son Arafat Rahman Koko's wife Sharmila Rahman and two granddaughters will be put on trial as they were made defendants in a Tk 450.6 million loan default case on Monday, reports UNB.
Judge Ruksana Parvin Happy of a Dhaka court allowed the petition filed by the counsel for Sonali Bank seeking inclusion of the four names as inheritors of late Koko, one of the directors of Dandy Dyeing Limited, who died in Malaysia on January 24 last.
Passing the order, the court also fixed April 12 for hearing on the charges.
On March 08, Sonali Bank's senior executive officer Nazrul Islam filed the petition before the court.
On October 02, 2012, Sonali Bank filed the case as the defendants failed to repay the loan after issuing a final notice.
