Former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is declared very, very important person (VVIP) with special security cover.
A gazette notification to this effect was issued Monday by the Office of the Chief Adviser of the post-uprising government.
The announcement fuels speculations that the ailing former PM, now in a critical condition and under treatment at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital, might be transferred to London for further treatment.
The government also assigns the Special Security Force (SSF) to provide security shield for the former prime minister and her family members.
