Launch strike from today

The country's In-land Waterways Employees' Federation has called a country-wide indefinite launch strike from Saturday mid-night demanding pay-hike. Following failed two-day negotiations with BIWTA and launch owners, the federation announced the strike. A spokesman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Passenger Transporters' Association said the strike would paralyse the inland water transport sector. — FE Report
